Gilbert Albert was a celebrated Swiss jewelry designer known for his innovative and avant-garde designs. Once an apprentice for his father’s jewelry business, Albert later pursued various creative endeavors, including art and industrial design, before finding his passion in jewelry design. He became famous for his use of unconventional materials, such as petrified wood and meteorites, and his unique approach to working with precious metals. In fact, he was one of the few designers who practiced the ancient art of granulation, which involves fusing tiny gold beads onto a surface. Albert created one-of-a-kind pieces for royalty, celebrities, and other high-profile clients around the world. Though he passed away in 2019 at the age of 87, his legacy lives on through his stunning jewelry designs and contributions to the industry.
